Outpatient Addiction Specialists

Medically Managed Detoxification

Detoxification from substances can be uncomfortable and even life threatening. This potential alternative is extremely cost effective in comparison to some other options, allows you to stay at home, and you can start therapy concurrently at the same time. Most people we see can be detoxified from mood altering substances on an outpatient basis.

Outpatient Medical Managed Detoxification

Detoxification from substances can be life threatening and uncomfortable without medical assistance. We medically detox and treat most people for acute withdrawals on an outpatient basis, including substances such as Opioids/Opiates (Pain Pills, Heroin, replacement or maintenance therapies such as Methadone/Suboxone, etc.), Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Ativan, etc.), Alcohol, Cocaine and other Central Nervous System Stimulates, Marijuana, as well as others.

We provide an alternative that is extremely cost effective in comparison to some other options, allows you to stay at home, and you can start therapy concurrently all at the same time and place. In some cases medical detoxification may necessitate a higher, more intense level of care. We also medically manage withdrawal symptoms for other addictive behaviors. That’s right, other addictive compulsive behaviors can have significant withdrawal symptoms to include restlessness, irritability, sleep disturbances, obsessing and/or ruminating thoughts, etc.

Intensive Outpatient & Partial Hospitalization

These programs allow a person to continue with their day to day life, job, and family activities while being in an aggressive treatment program and process. This level of care includes at least one week of family treatment and education.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our outpatient Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides comprehensive treatment services for individuals struggling with substance abuse. PHP allows you to stay in your home environment and commit to an immersed treatment experience during the day. Our PHP program is ideal for individuals who do not require the 24-hour supervision of a residential program but need more support than traditional outpatient therapy.

Between groups, clients have access to individual counseling and therapy services to address specific treatment needs. Overall, our outpatient PHP program offers a consistent, supportive, and effective treatment environment that is ideal for individuals who require support and care but do not require intensive, 24-hour supervision. Our experienced and compassionate staff are committed to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery and build a foundation for a healthy and fulfilling life.

A typical day in our outpatient PHP program consists of 2-part programming. Clients attend a processing group in the morning, where they can discuss their experiences, significant life events, or anything else that may be affecting their recovery. This group is facilitated by a licensed therapist and provides an opportunity for peer support and connection. Clients will also participate in a variety of educational groups, including relapse prevention, coping skills, and family dynamics. Clients receive individual attention and care from our experienced treatment team to ensure that they remain engaged and receive personalized support.

Following a break for lunch, clients participate in an afternoon processing group, which allows them to process any events that have occurred during the day and work through their emotions to reinforce their commitment to recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to provide support and guidance for individuals who require more intensive levels of care than traditional outpatient services, but is less intensive than PHP. Our IOP is based on a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to drug and alcohol treatment, and is designed to address the individual needs of each participant.

Our program is designed to be customized for the unique needs of each individual. Our team of experienced clinicians and peer support specialists work closely with each participant to provide the necessary support and guidance for a successful recovery journey.

A typical day in our IOP program consists of several structured activities, including individual and group therapy, education about addiction and recovery, and relaxation and wellness activities. In the morning, participants typically attend processing groups with clinicians for two and a half hours. These groups provide an opportunity for individuals to share their experiences and work through challenges with the support of a licensed therapist and peers who are also in the program.

This level of care may also include additional therapeutic groups, individual sessions, family therapy (if appropriate), and other activities that are designed to promote wellness and encourage participants to make healthy choices.

Individual Counseling & Family Services

These services are always available as recommended or where needs are identified. Addiction is seldom a “stand alone” illness. Often co-occurring issues need to be treated. It is seldom that the individual suffering from an illness is the only one affected.

Family Therapy Workshop

Family members often carry the emotional burden of a medicating addict. Family support is always available here at Coastal Recovery Center, even if the addict is resistant to treatment. Any systems primary reasons for existence is survival. It will do what it must to survive. Often is the case of a family where there is an active addiction, it is merely surviving. You may be wondering how you got here, if it will ever change, and better yet how to help and not harm. This intensive systems approach is specifically designed to not only educate, but provide tools for a family to have purpose and health functioning again.

Aftercare Support & Monitoring

Our aftercare services include relationships with outside individual and group counseling, sober living support, and ongoing monitoring.

Constant Contact Monitoring

The patient’s treatment team (medical & counseling) is in constant contact monitoring the ongoing and ever changing needs of the individual in early recovery, maximizing efficacy. Our professional team is equipped with years of experience in the treatment of Addictions and associated disorders such as Trauma, Complex Trauma, PTSD, Depression (unipolar & bipolar), Anxiety and other Co-occurring Disorders, addressing the symptoms and the source.

Frequently Asked Questions

All potential candidates are required to have a full Psychosocial Assessment and Medical Assessment prior to being given a detox regiment. All medical detoxifications are under the primary care of a Coastal Recovery Center physician (unless otherwise approved). All individuals detoxed will be engaged in the primary counseling care of our therapist during acute detox and stabilization (up to two + months). Other medical and counseling concerns and questions can be discussed further with our professionals. No medication distribution or “dosing” happens at our treatment center.

Currently we primarily treat adult individuals, couples, and their families (18yrs and older). Adolescents of family members that are in treatment are assessed for emotional maturity for our Family Workshops, and not necessarily a measured cut-off age. Currently we do NOT treat adolescents or children as primary patients.

All of our treatment is provided in an out-patient setting. Our counselors use multiple theoretic approaches, matching the needs and receptivity of the patient. Our primary therapy is emotional based including Existential, Gestalt, Experiential, Psycho Drama, Somatic, etc. Didactic and cognitive approaches are also used, only when appropriate, to include CBT, REBT, etc. Usually for an active addict & in early recovery, cognition is disihibited or disconnected (off line). Their decisions are emotionally driven, and are emotionally addressed in our treatment. Addiction is best treated in its “environment” if and when the patient has the capacity, with support, to meet and maintain normal daily living requirements. Recommendations and referrals are made if cases where needs are outside of our scope of practice (i.e. Inpatient, supportive living environment). In those cases, best practice is a referral back to an out-patient level of care as a “step down or transition” level of care.

Our treatment team is specifically credentialed to work with addictions and associated issues. Our staff is composed of a MD with a specialty in Addictions Medicine, Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Addiction Counselors, Certified Addictions Counselors, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, and gender specific/appropriate counselors.
